Anthony P. Trenga, M.D.

Fellowship-Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon
Shoulder to Fingertip Specialist

Dr. Trenga is originally from Alexandria, Virginia, but has since made Wisconsin home with his wife and two children. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Princeton University, where he received the Biology Department’s Research Award and a minor in Engineering Biology, he returned home for his medical degree at the University of Virginia. Dr. Trenga then completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Trenga elected to pursue additional training to become an expert of the hand, wrist, shoulder, and elbow, and remained at MCW for his hand and upper extremity fellowship as part of both the Plastic Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery Departments.

Dr. Trenga sees both adults and children for all aspects of the upper extremity from the shoulder and collarbone to the fingertip. His goal is to provide patients with the information necessary to take ownership of their care and come up with a treatment plan that is in line with their goals.

Dr. Trenga has presented his research on hand, shoulder, and elbow surgery at national and regional conferences and has published peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters. Dr. Trenga is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
